The best way to the BFA - Inland!

The 0-100 course teaches you the basics of sailing from the ground up. Experienced instructors will show you everything you need to know to sail safely and confidently - theory and practice included. Feel the wind in your sails and steer your own boat!

Course description

In line with our motto "learning by sailing", the focus of this course is on practical training - you will spend a lot of time on the water and can look forward to an intensive week of sailing. The theory includes the chapters on boating, sailing theory, law, meteorology, safety, ropes and knots.
The BFA-Binnen course lays the foundation for your sailing training and also gives you a licence for regatta sailing.

  • Age requirement for admission to the BFA-Binnen examination: 13 years (the licence is not issued until the age of 14) or completed 14th year,
  • Minimum age 13 years

Completion

The BFA Inland confirms that the practical and theoretical examination for the BFA Inland has been passed. The inland navigation licence authorises its holder to independently operate sailing yachts in the inland navigation area.

Course dates

Look forward to an exciting week of sailing – the course lasts seven days, always running from Saturday to Friday, and concludes on Friday afternoon with the BFA – Inland exam.

What to bring

There’s no such thing as bad weather – only the wrong clothes!
What you should bring:

  • Comfortable, sports-style clothing,
  • a change of clothes,
  • Shoes with non-slip soles that can get wet (old trainers, plimsolls, etc. – flip-flops are not suitable),
  • Rainwear (if available),
  • Sunscreen
  • Passport photo
Price

0–100 course: € 665
0–100 Course PLUS: € 795, including boat hire until the end of the season

Minimum number of participants: 5 people

The course fee includes boat hire during the course, lifejackets and waterproofs.

Additional costs – optional:
Exam fee: €35 (practical: €20, theory: €15)
Issuance fee (since 8 October 2012): €30 (we will apply on your behalf to the ÖSV for the licence to be issued)

BFA-Binnen app (Learnautik): €20 for our guests – please request via email
Goggle strap: €8 (if required)

Saturday to Thursday
09:30 – 12:30 and 14:00 – 16:00
Free practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons
followed by theory on 3 to 4 afternoons until around 18:30
